York Comedy - Comedy DVDs

Before the innovation of compact discs, there was the VHS for home movie viewing. And as time went on, the popularity of VHS waned and was eventually booted out of the market. Video CDs were of great demand because of the feature films released in a two-set discs. But eventually, the sole success of VCDs waned because the Video CD format has no means of protection from copyright infringement.

This is where the DVD format comes in. Movie piracy is rampant these days but the DVDs have the capacity to protect from copyright infringement. The protection is in the form of code embedded in the media and not seen as a plain text that says it is copy-protected.

There are movie-goers and there are those who choose to stay at home and watch their favorite movies in their own TV set. A whole range of movies are available in the market and that includes comedy movies.

Comedy DVDs may be bought on video stores or through an online purchase. There is more advantage though in purchasing a comedy DVD online. There are sites that offer reviews on comedy movies that can help the consumer decide on what to buy. There is also an option wherein a consumer can decide on whether to buy a new comedy DVD or just rent one.

Prices for some comedy on DVD do not exceed $30 in some online sites. It is even cheaper when the consumer decides to just rent a comedy DVD because it will only cost them less than $5.

Besides having the option of reading the reviews and whether to buy or just rent a comedy on DVD, a consumer also has the opportunity to watch trailers of these comedy movies. Buying a comedy DVD online has more benefits rather than going to the video store because of the number of options available for the consumer.

Now I want to tell about some of my favorite comedies: FRIENDS is one of the biggest surprise hits series in television history, NBC generated numerous shows and created a veritable pop culture phenomenon with its twenty something sitcom smash FRIENDS. The setting is in New York City, the series chronicled the lives of 6 best friends as they navigated through the ups and downs of career and romance from the confines of their local coffee shop and some pretty fabulous Manhattan apartments. While the series originally became successful on the coattails of its Thursday night predecessor SEINFELD, what differentiated FRIENDS from the rash of copycat sitcoms that followed, and made it a certified and bona fide hit in its own right it was the unique chemistry of its fine.
Like all good things, the adventures and misadventures of Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow), Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc), and Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) sadly came to an end with its 10th season, but these episodes stand as a fine testament to a timeless and classic comedy that considerably brightened up the television schedules during its run. And one way to preserve and have this classic show is to buy a original comedy DVD copy of this classic series, you can relive and see it all again.

Another must have is a comedy DVD copy of a comedy series titled Perfect Strangers . Perfect Strangers is an American sitcom that ran for 8 seasons from 1986 up to 1993 on ABC. It chronicles the rocky coexistence of Larry Appleton played by Mark Linn-Baker and his distant cousin Balki Bartokomous played by Bronson Pinchot. Originally airing on every Tuesdays and then Wednesdays in prime time, the comedy show eventually found its niche as an anchor for ABC's original TGIF lineup. It eventually produced a show spin-off, Family Matters, in 1989.
